Your new car build would have to start from a shell, once you find it make sure you:

Look out for rust

Rust kills cars, so if car that you find has been sitting out in someone's lot or yard for many years and is covered in rust, it aint worth the trouble.

Make sure the seller's discription of the car is accurate

When you are looking online make sure you see everything that the seller said about the car and see if you find any additional flaws in the car that the sellers might be hiding.
Look for flaws:

Under the car
The interior
Inside the hood

All these places are necessary to check because the more things that are damaged in the shell the more money you would have to put in your project.

Invest In Your Tools!

Your tools are one of the things that if you spend a certain amount one them, the price would reflect on their qualiity!

It is tempting to cheap out on some tools especially since your dropping so much money on your car build to make it as fast as you want it or best looking, but nothing is as bad as having one if your tools break on those late night building sessions and you have to wait until the morning to buy another one. Now you spent twice as much money because you didn't get a quality piece of equipment the first time.
